Maui Bicycling League (MBL) is a grassroots all-volunteer organization. Everything we do, from our community group bike rides to our advocacy efforts on behalf of bicyclists, depends on individuals like you. When we each shoulder part of the workload, we can make great things happen together.
Please volunteer with us! It’s satisfying, fun, and a great way to meet others in the community who share an interest in bicycling.

Ways to Get Involved
Join a Committee
Share your passion and expertise by joining one of our key committees:
- Advocacy – Support policy changes and infrastructure improvements for a safer, more bike-friendly Maui.
- Education, Safety, and Outreach – Promote cycling safety and awareness through community programs.
- Membership and Fundraising – Help grow our membership and secure funding for initiatives.
- Marketing and Public Relations – Spread the word about MBL’s mission through media and public engagement.
Support Community Programs
- Keiki Bike Education Program – Help teach Maui’s youth essential bike safety skills.
- Lead & volunteer for community outreach programs – Engage with the community to promote biking and pedestrian safety.
Advocate for Biking and Walking Infrastructure
- Attend Maui County meetings that address bicycle-related issues.
- Testify at Maui County Infrastructure Committee meetingsand budget hearings to support biking projects.
- Participate in Safe Routes to School and multi-use hui committees to advocate at the state level.
- Collaborate with other nonprofits working to improve bike and pedestrian infrastructure.
Volunteer at Events and Activities
- Lead a group ride and help build a stronger cycling community.
- Assist with event check-in at Maui Bicycling League gatherings.
- Help provide refreshments for event participants.
- Distribute MBL rack cards to bike shops and fitness centers.
- Support our members by assisting with membership renewals.
