HELP ADVOCATE FOR BETTER BICYCLING IN YOUR COMMUNITY
|You know the roads, sidewalks and bike paths in your community — the places where there should be a bike lane, where kids need a safer place to walk or bike to school, where everyone would benefit from a community bike path. Translate your vision into action by joining one of Maui Bicycling League’s Regional Advocacy Groups.
As a member of one of our Regional Advocacy Groups, you’ll be notified about upcoming meetings pertaining to your community with County and State officials, including the Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization, as well as other local advocacy groups such as the West Maui Greenway Alliance.

This group focuses on Kula, Pukalani, Makawao, Paia and Haiku. We have met with Maui County officials and have discussed concerns including the need for shoulders on Hana Highway outside of Paia near Mama’s Fish House; a plan for a freestanding bike path along Baldwin Avenue; community interest in a bicycle path in Haiku and a safe sidewalk for adults and children bicycling/walking from downtown Paia to Paia Elementary School.
